(updated 2-5-18)

General Rules and Format:
1.) A school may not compete unless there is an advisor from the school except in the case of an emergency.

2.) Each match shall consist of six rounds of three questions each and a team round of six questions. In the first six rounds the first question will be worth one point, question 2, two points, and question 3, three points. Team round questions are each worth 3 points. The topics for each round will be announced in advance. There will be one question of each topic of the match in the team round.

3.) Each school's A team will consist of six students, including at most three seniors and at least one sophomore or freshman. Substitutions may be made with a student from a lower grade.

4.) Each student (A team or B team) may compete in a maximum of 3 rounds only.

5.) Each round will be ten minutes long. There will be a two-minute warning after eight minutes have elapsed and a fifteen-second warning when fifteen seconds remain in the round. Each A Team student will legibly print his or her name and school and a capital A on the back of the paper before the timing begins. Any student challenges must be handled before the team round begins. All scores will be final at that time.

6.) Matches begin promptly at 3:30 P.M.

7.) In case of inclement weather the host school will decide whether or not to hold the meets by 1:00 P.M. lt is the advisor's responsibility to call the host
school to find out whether the match will be held.

8.) Trophies and/or certificates will be awarded for high scoring teams and high scoring sophomores, freshmen, and eighth graders (if any). Individual awards will be computed on the basis of the best four meets.

9.) Dues will be $175.00 per team. We will pay $600 to the question writer(s), $150 for scorekeeping and $150 to the coordinator. We will also pay league dues for teams participating in the Connecticut State Association and the New England Association of Math Leagues.

10.) B teams must label all papers with the school name and "B team" in addition to their own names. B Team scores will not count toward a school's team score for the match.
